Safeguarding
Highbury Quadrant Primary School is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, expecting all staff and volunteers to adhere to this commitment.
At Highbury Quadrant, we are committed to creating an environment where every pupil feels safe, secure, valued, and respected, and where their voice is heard. We take our responsibility to protect and prevent harm to our pupils very seriously, alongside promoting their health and development both within and outside the school setting. Every member of our staff is aware of their duty to report any concerns about a pupil’s wellbeing, primarily through the designated safeguarding lead and their deputies.
Safeguarding involves actions taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.
Safeguarding includes:
- Protecting children from abuse and maltreatment.
- Preventing harm to children’s health or development.
- Ensuring children grow up with the provision of safe and effective care.
- Taking action to enable all children and young people to achieve the best outcomes.
Child protection is a crucial aspect of our safeguarding practices. It focuses on protecting individual children identified as suffering or at risk of suffering significant harm. This encompasses child protection procedures that specify how to respond to concerns about a child.
